**I was assigned to Navy Recruiting District Chicago fromSeptember, '94 to November, '96.**I investigated many casesof recruiter misconduct including recruiters sexually assaultingapplicants, forging diplomas and otherwise fraudulentlyenlisting recruits.**I became convinced that the chain ofcommand at least tolerated, if not encouraged this behavior.I also feel these abuses were more likely to be directedat female applicants and people of color.**Please contact mewith your stories about being recruited.**I am writing a bookabout military recruitment.I would also like to hear from recruiters.**In the Navy the recruiters are put in a very difficult situation.**The group thatis the driving force behind the criminal mentality is the Career Recruiting Force (CRF).**CRF personnel solicit recruitersto fraudulently enlist applicants, but have a layer of deniabilitywhen the fraudulent enlistment is detected.Carl Nyberg

i live in ky and was once considering going into the navy.**i actually was in the delayed entry program when i decided that it wasn't what i wanted.**they pressured me and lied to me to get me to go into the nuclear field in the first place, and then when i wanted to get out they lied to me and told me there was no way.**my recuiter even told me to lie when filling out forms.**there is a really long story to go with this... alot of sexism... if you want email me back and i can give you a more detailed story.**i think i did post a message here for people wanting to get out... it says a little bit about my story.**i think what your doing is great.... i was so angry that those people would pull such crap... it's all a power trip!

Hey, now that you mention**I knew a girl a while ago....I can't remember her name so NIS don't even ask.... who not only had a high school diploma made by her recruiter but she also had false custody papers for her child, and one child she did not even mention because she would not have been able to get a waiver for it.**But the girl really needed a job and she is doing good. So I guess you can say her recruiter hooked her up.** Maybe she will get her diploma one day.

: Help!!!!**If you know how to get out of the Navy please contact me.**My recruitor swore to me that if I**signed up then, I could change my mind later on.**Now, they are refusing to let me out.**I am 17 years old and DO Not want to join the military right now.**I'm going to college.( I also live in Ky)**If you can help please e-mail me or post a reply as soon as possible.I don't know if this is too late but I suspect it isn't. If you want to get out just tell your recruiter to stop calling you. You have no obligations to the Navy untill you are in boot camp, no matter what the recruiter says. You CAN just walk away. Trust me I've seen it done before. (Once with my little brother.) Even if you are in boot camp there is a sort of unwritten rule that if you want to get out you can, just insist on it. You WILL be intimidated by the people there but realize that your are not a slave.
