I'm a 28 year old Filifina, both residence of U. S. and Canada, I've been working here in Canada as anAdministrative support in an office environment, I hadmy degree in Bachelor of Arts, Psychology, I was ahigh school teacher back in the Philippines. since Iwas a kid, I've always wanted to join the Navy, I gotmarried in 1997, my husband is also in the Navy, Hetold me, I've already had my degree, my civilian career, I am all settled for what I've worked hard for, maybe it's time to do what I've always wanted sinceI was a kid, and that is joining the navy, He's verysupportive about it, and I was planning to enlistthis week. I'm not aware of life in the Navy, infact, I dont evenhave a clue what's waiting for me there, but I knowNavy will be an acomplishment to me, if there's anyonewho would be able to read this, please kindly response.your comments, suggestion and advice are welcome. please kindly response in my email address above.

Hi Melissa: I am also a 28-year-old divorcee with a 3 year-old-son.**I will enter USN in year 2000 as an officer, my MOS Cryptology/Encoding.**I will hold a B.B.A. in Computer Office Systems, which should be very helpful in obtaining my MOS.**I am glad you have a very supportive husband who believes in your dream; however, I wasn't so fortunate in having that kind of person.**Latino culture dictates the Military is a man's world, and women have their proper "place".**I come from Military background, so I learned a lot about the different branches of Armed Forces.**The only thing I have to do is leave my son in guardianship of Mom. Being divorced with a little guy, I have to show lots of determination (and guts) I am not easily intimidated. Melissa, learn all you can! And start working on those push-ups, sit-ups, etc. Yo go gurl!!!
