I just got out of the Corps in Apr 1992.**If you intend to go in as an enlisted Marine I can shed some light on the subject.**Number one...you must be able to run very well.**You are going to have a hard enough time keeping up with the guys...So if you can run a mile and a half in under 14 minutes, do 50 situps in 60 seconds, and do the flex arm hang for 70 seconds...you will be aces.**I wasnt very good when it came to running.**If all I had to do was do my job, I would have stayed in, but I know that I would not be able to keep up the running.**The situp and Flex were no problem for me.**The mental games they play in bootcamp are just that.**Games.**They are meant to break your civilian train of thought and install the military way.**If you have any more specific questions please write me.**About the being Canadian part...I know we had girls that were in on Green Cards.**Please check in to that aspect of it.

The physical requirements have changed recently.**You must now bew able to run 3 miles--I am unsure of the time, but I imagine the Maximum is around 26-28 min. or so.**You must also do sit-up for 2 minutes--80 for a first class--I am unsure of the minimum.**The arm hang is still 70sec for a first class.**: i'v wanted to join the marines now for a couple of years, ever since i was ten.**i'm fifteen now andhave started looking in what i have to do to join. i'malso canadian so all doors seemed to be closed for me.i'd love to hear from any marines who can give me some info. and talk about their experience.**i don't plan to give up until all doors have been shut.**i'll appreciate any info. i get.**thanks!************************ -michelle vanderlans
