If your son or daughter gets a phone call from the recruiter.Or comes home from school and says they are thinking about the military.(hopefully the MARINES).Then help them weigh thier oppsions. Don't put down the military or tell them YOU don't want them to leave YOU. As in every situation in your childs lifes. Your child may not ask but they do value your opinion. In my work I incounter parents that can't seem to get past thier own feelings about the military. There is alot of misconceptions about the military. And now in what seems to be a (FAD) year focusing on sexual harasment. ( I'm a woman Marine/ 10 years in ) Haven't seen it happen. Now in short if your son or daughter has decided on the Military. It really helps if they have the support of thier parents and familys .Its a big step and for many the first time away from home. Please support your child if they decide on a career in the military. They need that FAMILY SUPPORT!!
