I am interested in the marine Reserves and I was wondering if there was an age limit. I am 28 and not in college. I cannot get anywhere with these low paying jobs. Also what is the score limit on the ASVAB? If it is still 51 then I don't know if I can pass it. I've been out of school for sometime now and the math is going to be hard to do.Also i was in the lower learning classes in high school so the math is really confusing. I tried taking the test for the Army and I failed it. What should I do?

Ms. Lewis,
The reserves is a great place to start your military career. If you ask a recruiter, he/she will try his/her hardest to change your mind. Go with your gutt feeling. The Marine Corps age limits are 17-34. You do not need to be in college to join either. College course help you to pick up rank once you are in. I recommend going to a book store or library and getting an ASVAB practice book. Depending on what you score on your test, determines what job you get. High 50 is a good score. I think men can score in the 30's and get grunt. So, there is always hope to getting a good job. I scored in the 60's and got aviation electronics. You don't really have to get a job that involves Math. Obviously electronics does, a lot. Admin jobs, or motor-t don't. You need to ask a recruiter, they WILL help you. Believe me, I don't like math (never have) but they helped me score higher in the math section of the ASVAB. You will never get help or the answer if you don't ask the questions. There is no such thing as a bad question, never! If you really want to be in the military, you must first believe in yourself. You said, "If it is still 51, then I don't know if I can pass it." It sounds to me that you have already quit! Try harder, if you really want it.
Semper fi, do or die!

Molly, I think you have the option to join the reserves for part time work. You can either go part time or full active duty. That is what I was told.
