Bill, you want women to be living mine detectors(!), and leave the "real job" to "real men". What kind of opinion is that? Use your brain please. If you do, I'm sure your arguments won't be erased.

Apparently you don't "get" the concept of combat. If women can be best employed as living mine detectors, then that is exactly how they should be employed. It's really pretty simple. How do you find out if the enemy is around the corner? You send a man (heres another job that women can handle) around the corner. If he gets shot, the enemy is there. Why is it that when I offer women the equal chance to die for their country, everyone gets so upset??****************************************** Bill

Let the draft apply to women as well, I have no problem with that. But your idea of trying to controll who is going to die is absurd.

Whenever there is a war to be fought men are forced to participate by the draft. Why should women be given the privilige of opting out of combat? They should be forced to pay an equal price with men. As the "Globalization" scheme continues to unravel I think that the likelyhood of another world war becomes more certain - not the Gulf War type slaughter - but rather a WWII type nightmare. This time I think that things will be different though. I think that men will refuse to go unless women are forced to bear their share of combat casualties.****

Bill, you offer women equal right to die, but not equal right to fight. Just let those who want to fight, and that have the necessary capacity for that ( and no "special standards" for women), do that.

Apparently you missed Bills' point. I agree that women should be forced to not only participate in combat but that there should also be a system designed to ensure that they pay an equal price in combat deaths and injuries. The only way to do this without adversely affecting the fighting capabilities of the Armed Services is to maintain separate units and to employ them the way that Bill suggested. You seem to think that women will object to this. Well I think that women are in for a big surprise because men, today, would be more than willing to give their spot in the draft up to a woman. I know that I certainly would raise no objection, in fact I would probably go to court if they didn't do something along these lines.
