Does anyone know what the consequences are for refusing to take the Anthrax vaccine?**I heard that you can get an administrative discharge and disability for refusing the vaccine...**Tell me what you guys know... Thanks

You can face discharge, administrative punishment or even court martial. It depends on the individual commander.

All military personnel are required to have vaccinations. Also, military personnel are not allowed to refuse any medical treatments that are given to them. In return, military personnel cannot sue military doctors or commanders for ordering them to take such. This is for the maintaining of order and discipline in the military.

Basically, a military person is Government property. However, the military commanders DO use common sense. (Someone allergic to eggs, for example, is not required to take Flu shots.) The military WILL NOT knowingly hurt someone medically. If it happens, there are severe punishments for those who did the hurting.
