Thanks to all of you who are a part of this board for your time and consideration that you take when answering questions, and to those brave enough to post your questions.**Because of you, I have made the commitment to join the AF.**Joining is something I have thought about for a long time, since I was a young girl and watched my sisters make career's out of the military. I am 21, have a good job w/ a major credit card co., but I don't find the job satisfying personally.**I need a challenge physically and mentally.**I also would like to persue my education, and have decided that this is for me.What I would like is any information or stories that you have on basic, MOS's, Life..good and bad. Any thing that will help prepare me to the best of my ability to make the most out of my decison, and also help me confirm that this is the right decsion for me.I have 6 months to mentally and physically prepare for the challenges ahead and any information would be greatly appreciated.Thank's in advanceBrandybouncen@ime.net

I joined at 20 y/o and loved it. I was ready to get out there, travel, work hard. There's so much somebody could say to you to help you, but I'm guessing since you have sisters in, you know a lot about it already. That's quite a strength you've got.

I found that Basic was more a test psychologically than physically. It was harder for me to figure out and live by this strict code right away (especially with people yelling all the time) while it was also my first time living away from home and missing my family. I did train beforehand by running and doing sit-ups and push-ups. I think that helped me in the physical arena.

I also had my recruiter, who was formerly a Training Instructor, show me how to fold my shirts and tell me as much as possible about BMT before I went. That helped a lot too. So- if you have someone who can show you some of that practical stuff (your sisters?) that would probably help.

Good luck.
