hi anyone! Had an important question. Two years ago I was put on Prozac for depression, then I was taken to another doctor who said I didn't need it because she said I was not depressed. But I think it was put on my record that I actually was depressed. I havn't talked to my recruiter yet about it, we havn't gotten that far in the process, (or, he just hasn't asked yet) So half the people around me are telling me to lie, saying that "they'll probably never end up checking anyway" but then some people say "they'll find out, it's the US Military" etc. What in the world should I do here? Would it be a shot just to explain to the doctor at MEPS my situation? Or will he think it's just a coverup or something? ANY help would be appreciated. thanks!

If you read through all the posts here you'll find a common theme when faced with questions like this. It's better that you tell them everything and explain up front than be caught lying later.
You may or may not be told you can't enlist, but it's a damn sight better tyhan being busted for non-disclosure.
The choice is yours. Good luck.

As with the my other compatriots, don't hide anything. The recruiters job is to help you enlist. It is simple. Just go to the doctor who took you off the meds and have him/her write a letter stating that you'd been misdiagnosed and had been taken off of Prozac and that you had no further symptoms. Today to many people are being given these catch-all diagnosis and catch-all treatments for the easy/lazy factor. Good luck. D'Hana
