Okay, if anyone can give me a straight answer I would be very grateful...I have been told various things by recruiters and even the people at MEPS. Once and for all, is the GI BIll taxable? Also, is the GI Bill kicker taxable? Personally, i'm not that concerned about money but my father is driving me nuts! He wants to make sure everything is set before I leave (Aug. 2) One last question... can anyone tell me about OSUT. I know what it is, as well as what it entails, but I've been told by some that I won't have a regular graduation ceremony from basic. Is this true? They say that once basic is over, I go right into AIT and the ceremony occurs upon its completion. Can anyone set me straight ONCE AND FOR ALL!!! I'm leaving soon and I would like to tie up any loose ends prior to my departure. Besides, my parents want to begin making arrangements to come to my graduation. Any info on these subjects would be greatly appreciated. :O) Thanks.

There is a gruaduation ceremony right at the end of BCT. Everyone parades and shows off what they have learned. Usually you leave the next day for AIT. The military takes you unless you make arrangements for your family to do so. I'm not sure how that is done. I cannot help you with the rest of your question.

My recruiter (who actually is pretty honest) says the GI Bill money + ACF money is tax free. He told me that it was when we were talking about it, it's more like a grant for college not a source of income.
